After 12 years of construction, a new
synagogue was dedicated and opened last week (Dec 19) under the Jewish Temple
Mount within the Western Wall tunnels. The dedication was done during Hanukkah, or Feast of Dedication. The
synagogue is centered on a unique spherical ark that holds Torah scrolls and
the words of the Shema Israel prayer and the Song of Songs cast in metal around
the circumference of the ark. The building project was funded by the Delek
Group owned by Yitzhak Tshuva.
