July 19, 2017 -- News Update

On Wednesday, Israeli authorities closed the Temple Mount after a group of Jewish visitors who brought holy books in order to say prayers.  Although Jews may visit the site, they are not allowed presently to pray.  They were escorted off the site.  The mount was later reopened.

In a separate event today, a clash arose between the Israeli police and protesters near the Lions Gate.  A short video surfaced on You Tube purporting to show the Israeli police attempting to remove a demonstrator.  It appears that after resisting, he said something, after which an Israeli police officer strikes him in the face.
