Although Israeli authorities reopened the Temple Mount on
Sunday, Muslim authorities and worshipers refused to enter through the new
security measures. On Monday, a number
of Muslims again boycotted and refused to go through the metal detectors to the
Al-Aqsa Mosque. Instead, they prayed
outside near the Lions Gate in protest. It
appears that a group of Palestinians who had gathered for prayer threw stones
at the police and where turned away. It also appears that for the first time Jewish visitors had access to the Temple Mount without the Islamic Waqf authorities present.
