May 23, 2018 -- Controversial Picture of US Ambassador David Friedman

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Pictured with Controversial Image of Jerusalem Third Temple Replacing Muslim Mosques

However, the US Embassy tweeted that US policy supports the "status quo" on the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif.  On May 22  @usembassyjlm twitted the following:



1/2 Ambassador Friedman was not aware of the image thrust in front of him when the photo was taken. He was deeply disappointed that anyone would take advantage of his visit to Bnei Brak to create controversy.

2/2 The US policy is absolutely clear: we support the status quo on the Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount.
