A Journey of Hope marks the sixtieth anniversary of Nostra Aetate by tracing the development of Catholic interreligious dialogue from its origins in the Church’s response to the Holocaust to its present global scope. The document reaffirms the unique and irrevocable bond between Christianity and Judaism, insisting that Jewish–Christian dialogue remains central to Christian identity while upholding the Church’s teaching that Christ is the sole Redeemer. It surveys major papal contributions to dialogue, highlights the fruits and challenges of six decades of engagement, and outlines four principal forms of dialogue—life, action, theological exchange, and religious experience. Emphasizing formation, institutional collaboration, and the rejection of violence done in the name of religion, the text proposes a “polyhedron” model of dialogue that respects irreducible difference while fostering fraternity. Grounded in a pneumatological vision, it calls believers to become builders of bridges who pursue justice, peace, truth, and the common good in a fractured world.
