Sharansky argues that now is the time for the free world to show support
for those in Iran who are opposed to the Iranian regime and its ideology. He is critical of how the Obama
administration decided to negotiate with the Iranian regime instead of showing
support for the protesters in Iran who were looking for change in the Iranian
government back in 2009. Sharansky
praised US President Trump’s support saying, “ I am glad it seems that
this time the American administration is behaving differently than in 2009, and
I’m sorry that it is not something that all the free world is doing.”
